Visiting professor at the University of Iowa. Writer in residence at Pitzer College. Taught poetry and fiction writing at Pomona College. Graduate writing seminars at Art Center College of Design. Developed the poetry writing and visiting writers programs at the University of Hawai'i. CINE Golden Eagle award for feature film, Superstar: the Life and Times of Andy Warhol. Iowa Arts Council award for fiction.
