Janet Kelly

Janet Kelly was born to a working class family in York. As a young child she and her brother were taken into care. This experience would remain a traumatic experience throughout Kelly's life and it would be many years before she would be reunited with her mother. As an adult Kelly married a very abusive man. After years of abuse she gained the courage to go to the police and her husband was prosecuted. As part of her journey, to regain her strength and confidence; Kelly wrote two volumes about her experiences, to help others in similar situations.
