James W. Jones

Dr. James (Jim) W. Jones is an Agricultural Engineer. He was a Professor in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department at the University of Florida until his retirement in 2010. He continues to work part-time on research projects at the university. From 2016 to 2019, he was a Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Jones developed mathematical models and computer simulations to integrate scientific knowledge from different disciplines for use in agricultural decision-making. His work emphasizes use of convergent systems approaches to develop food and agricultural systems that are more productive, sustainable, and resilient.
