TV reporter Susan Allison, looking for a story on St. Valentine's Day, interviews Neil Thomas about his parents' marriage in World War II. Never abandoning hope, Neil's mother waited years for the return of her husband, a missing Navy pilot. As they discuss the marriage, Susan and Neil fall in love.
