Natural toxins 2

The second symposium on natural toxins (first was 1990) was held at the 209th National Meeting of the ACS in April 1995, with the objective of having a focused discussion on the toxins of various origins (animal, plant, marine, and microbial). The volume is divided into five sections. The first provides an overview of toxins from all the four major classes based on origin. The other sections reflect common themes in the current understanding of these toxins: origin, structure, and function; mechanism of action; scientific and medical tools; and detection, diagnostics, and therapy.
