Keira's uncle buys a cruelly-treated ex-rodeo pony called Stormcloud. But Stormy bucks, rears and crow-hops, and everyone says that he can never be tamed, let alone ridden. But Stormy's new owner promises Keira that if she succeeds in retraining him and selling him, she can keep the cash! Keira jumps at the challenge. Will kindness and patience be enough, or has rodeo cruelty soured Stormy for good?
