Christian unity and Christian diversity

To combine unity can never be a tightly knit affair. It must leave room not just for the preservation but for the continuing development of the rich heritage of different Christian traditions. The Church of the future, the author believes, will manifest more clearly the visible unity of the people of God and it will be a new creation, but it will also be continuous with the Church of the ages and gather up undiminished the wealth of forms that Christianity has brought for.
