Learning to swim

Witnessing a small child tumbling from a ferry into Lake Champlain, Troy Chance dives in without thinking and bobs to the surface with a terrified little boy. As the ferry disappears, she begins a bone-chilling swim to shore with her tiny passenger. Other than giving his name - speaking only French - Paul is resolutely mute. Troy assumes his frantic parents will contact the police or the press. But what follows is a shocking and deafening silence . . .
