A fourteen-year-old Minnesota farm boy has to figure out how to get along with the arch-rival in his love life and on the baseball diamond, and both boys must learn how to deal with the unfair expectations of their fathers. For as long as Billy Braggs can remember, rich townie and ace pitcher Archer "King" Kenwood has been his nemesis, both on the field and off. And when their long-standing rivalry explodes into violence, shocking their small-town Minnesota community, Coach Anderson comes up with an ingenious plan to keep the peace between his two star players with surprising results.
