Alexia Tarabotti is a spinster in Victorian London, and while this is difficult in the best of circumstances, it's even harder for her because she is soulless, was recently attacked by a vampire, killed the vampire, and now a werewolf has been sent by Queen Victoria to investigate these paranormal events.
