Pride of Lancashire

Carrie Preston is used to hard work. Oldest of ten, with an incompetent mother, she's the one who struggles to find food for the younger children. When her drunken father knocks her unconscious, she's rescued by Eli Beckett from the Dragon pub and offered a job which leads to friendship and hope for a better future.
