Few readers of the fantastic realize that Smith's work frequently fell victim to the editor's pen, due to their length, their richly atmospheric prose, or, on occasion, their risque contents. In this booklet, and in future ones, we hope to introduce you to the real Clark Ashton Smith, published here for the first time.
