Ten days of Birthright Israel

by Leonard Saxe

Cover of Ten days of Birthright Israel

Since 2000, nearly 150,000 young adult Jews have participated in Birthright Israel, a free ten day educational experience available to any Jew between the ages of eighteen and twenty six. Conceived to curb assimilation by shifting an entire generation of young Jews from a trajectory of non-involvement with the Jewish community to one of identity and engagement, Birthright Israel offers Diaspora Jews born and raised in other countries a once in a lifetime chance to visit Israel.
