Glass beads from early Anglo-Saxon graves

"Beads made of glass or amber are the most common type of object found in Early Anglo-Saxon graves (5th-7th centuries AD), yet relatively little is known about them. In this well illustrated study, based on visual examination, Birte Brugmann analyses a national sample of c. 14,000 glass beads. She creates a new typology taking into consideration manufacturing techniques, shapes, colours and decoration and discusses continental and Scandinavian influence on bead fashion."--Jacket.
