Earlier Hansi was larger, more prosperous and more important city than Hisar, as evident by several important buildings of archeological importance. Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Bomdila is one of the 60 constituencies of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Bomdila, a virgin forest until modern times was built as Sela Sub Agency Capital by Major Ralengnao R Khathing. In February 1954, the shifting of the Headquarters of the Political Officer from Charduar to Bomdila was undertaken, and on February 28, 1954, Bomdila was officially made the capital of the Sela Sub Agency.

Ad-Damir or ad-Damar () is the capital of the River Nile state in Sudan. It lies on the right (east) bank of the Nile River, at an elevation of , about northeast of Khartoum, with a population of about 122,944 (estimated 2012). Its famous market, Soug as-Sabit, is the most important in the area. Ad-Dāmar is an example of a Sudanese African-Islamic city founded toward the end of the fifteenth century. Since ad-Damar was located on the bank of the river, it could be expected to exhibit a linear morphology.

Magdala (; ; ) was an ancient Jewish city on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, north of Tiberias. In the Babylonian Talmud it is known as Magdala Nunayya (), and which some historical geographers think may refer to Tarichaea (). It is believed to be the birthplace of Mary Magdalene. Until the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, the Palestinian village of al-Majdal () stood at the site of ancient Magdala. The Israeli municipality of Migdal now extends into the area.
