The Bayon (, ; BAI-on) is a richly decorated Theravada Buddhist temple of the Khmer Empire located at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the state temple of King Jayavarman VII (), it stands at the centre of Jayavarman’s capital city, Angkor Thom (). The Bayon reflects the strong Buddhist orientation of Jayavarman VII’s reign. The Jetavanarama stupa or Jetavanaramaya () is a stupa, or Buddhist reliquary monument, located in the ruins of Jetavana monastery in the UNESCO world heritage city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. At 122 metres (400 ft), it was the world's tallest stupa, and the third tallest structure in the world (only behind the two great pyramids: Great Pyramid of Giza and Pyramid of Khafre) when it was built by King Mahasena of Anuradhapura (273–301).
