"Beetlebum" is a song by English rock band Blur. It was released on 16 January 1997 as the lead single from the band's eponymous fifth album, Blur (1997). Written about Blur frontman Damon Albarn's experiences with heroin, the song features Beatles-influenced music and a mood that Albarn described as "sleepy" and "sexy". Despite fears of the song's uncommercial nature, the single debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Blur's second track to top the chart. It has since appeared on several Blur compilations.

Jóga
"Jóga" is a song recorded by Icelandic singer, songwriter, and actress Björk for her third studio album, Homogenic (1997). An electronica song, "Jóga" fuses these elements with baroque and classical styles. The track's sound was partially inspired by Icelandic music, containing what have been described as "volcanic beats". Lyrically, the piece is an ode to Björk's native land and her best friend, while containing subtexts relating to the state of emergency.

"Tubthumping" is a song by British rock band Chumbawamba, released in August 1997 by EMI Records as the first single from their eighth studio album, Tubthumper (1997). Written and produced by the band, it is their most successful single, peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart and topping the charts of Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy and New Zealand. In the United States, it reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped three other Billboard charts. At the 1998 Brit Awards, "Tubthumping" was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Single. It sold 880,000 copies in the UK

"Lovefool" is a song written by Peter Svensson and Nina Persson for Swedish rock band the Cardigans' third studio album, First Band on the Moon (1996). It was released as the album's lead single on 10 August 1996 in Japan. In the United States, the song was serviced to radio two days later. A few months after its release, the track was included in the Baz Luhrmann film Romeo + Juliet, helping the song gain international recognition.
