Russo-Ukrainian war (2022–present)
On 24 February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, starting the largest and deadliest war in Europe since World War II, in a major escalation of the existing war between the two countries that began when Russia attacked Ukraine in 2014. The fighting has caused hundreds of thousands of military casualties and tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilian casualties. As of April 2026, Russian troops occupy roughly 20% of Ukraine. From a population of 41 million, about 8 million Ukrainians have been internally displaced and 6–7 million have fled the country, creating Europe's largest refugee crisis since World War II.

An incel ( ; a portmanteau of "involuntary celibate") is a member of an online subculture of mostly male and heterosexual people who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one. They often blame, objectify, and denigrate women and girls as a result. The term inspired a subculture that rose to prominence during the 2010s, after being influenced by and associated with misogynist terrorists such as Elliot Rodger and Alek Minassian.

Relationship of Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway, and Jeffrey Epstein
The relationship of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway with the American convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has become a major scandal for the Norwegian royal family. The pair were introduced in 2011 and maintained close contact until 2014. Media first reported on the relationship in 2019 in the context of the indictment against Epstein in 2019. At the time Mette-Marit minimized the contact, claimed a lack of knowledge of his crimes, and claimed to have broken off contact in 2013, a claim later disproven.
