Inspired by the tour and her romantic relationship with the football player Travis Kelce, she conceived The Life of a Showgirl as a vibrant and lively album that reflected her triumphant state of mind.

On its original release, the physical editions contained 18 tracks, while the digital editions omitted three of them. A digital reissue, titled Lux , was released on 17 April 2026, featuring all 18 tracks.
