The Abravanel family ( ʾAbravanʾēl or ʾAbarbənʾēl), also spelled as Abarbanel, Abrabanel, Avravanel, Barbernell, or Barbanel literally meaning Ab ("father") rabban ("priest") el ("of God") is one of the oldest and most distinguished Jewish families.
