AirAsia X Berhad (), operating as AirAsia, is a Malaysian multinational low-cost airline headquartered near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Established in 1993 and commencing operations in 1996, the airline is the largest in Malaysia by fleet size and destinations. It operates scheduled domestic and international flights to over 166 destinations across 25 countries. Its primary hub is Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), where it operates from Terminal 2, the low-cost carrier terminal.

Eurowings GmbH is a German low-cost carrier headquartered in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. Proposed as early as 1990, but formally founded in 1993, it serves a network of domestic and European destinations and maintains bases at several airports throughout Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. As of 2024, it is the largest low-cost-carrier in the German market.

In 2008 Krasair suffered a liquidity crisis, and after a string of operational shutdowns, administrative and strikes, the company ceased operations in October 2008.

The airline was banned from operating within the EU from 24 July 2009 to November 2009, and had further restrictions imposed upon it in 2010.

ModiLuft was a private airline based in Delhi, India. It operated on domestic routes until it shut down in 1996. It maintained high standards in flight safety, ground maintenance, and on-time performance owing to support from Lufthansa. ModiLuft's aircraft were configured in First, Business and Economy Class, making it the only private airline in India during its time to fly a three class configuration on domestic routes. It used Boeing 737-200 aircraft leased from Lufthansa and had an incident-free track record of flying.
