Sonatrach () is the national state-owned oil company of Algeria. Founded in 1963, it is known today to be the largest company in Africa with 154 subsidiaries, and often referred as the first African oil "major". In 2021, Sonatrach was the seventh largest gas company in the world.

SNVI (; ), formerly the National Society of Mechanical Construction (SONACOME, الشركة الوطنية للهندسة الميكانيك), is an Algerian automaker headquartered in Rouïba that has produced trucks and buses since 1967. The public company also manufactures Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Djezzy (in ) is one of Algeria's three main mobile network operators, with a market share of 65% (over 16.49 million subscribers in December 2016) and a network covering 90% of the population (48 wilayas). Djezzy is wholly owned by the Algerian state since 2022, previously was a subsidiary of the Egyptian company Global Telecom Holding (a subsidiary of VEON). Djezzy acquired Algeria's second GSM license on 11 July 2001, with a bid of $737 million, and was officially launched on February 15, 2002.

Saidal Group (, ) is an Algerian pharmaceutical company created in 1982. Saidal Group is the largest pharmaceutical company in Algeria and one of the largest in Africa.

thumb|right|A Naftal pump Naftal (Arabic: نفطال) is the principal company selling petroleum-based fuels for domestic consumption in Algeria; its gas stations are a familiar sight throughout the country. Founded in 1981 by government decree, it was responsible for refining and distribution until 1987. In 1998, it became a subsidiary of Sonatrach. It employs about 30,000 workers, and has about 2300 gas stations (as of 2017).

Algerian telecommunications company

ENMTP (from Entreprise Nationale des Materiels de Travaux Publics) is an Algerian company specializing in the development, manufacture and distribution of machinery used in public works. It has registered capital of 15.6 billion DA and is 100% owned by the state.
