Homeland is an American espionage thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. It is based on the Israeli series Prisoners of War, created by Gideon Raff, who also serves as an executive producer on Homeland. The series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA officer with bipolar disorder, convinced that decorated Marine Corps scout sniper Nicholas Brody was "turned" by al-Qaeda and poses a threat to the United States. The series storyline grows from that premise, together with Mathison's ongoing covert work.

The series follows Miles Heizer as Cameron Cope, a closeted gay teenager from Louisiana who enlists in the United States Marine Corps alongside his best friend Ray McAffey. Set in 1990, when the military excluded gay people from service, the story depicts their boot camp training under Sergeant Sullivan, a drill instructor who takes special interest in Cope. The series also stars Ana Ayora, Blake Burt, Cedrick Cooper, Dominic Goodman, Nicholas Logan, Kieron Moore, Angus O'Brien, Rico Paris, and Vera Farmiga.

Combat!
Combat! is an American television drama that originally aired on ABC from 1962 until 1967. The exclamation point in Combat! was depicted on-screen as a stylized bayonet. The show covered the grim lives of a squad of American soldiers fighting the Germans in France during World War II. The first-season episode "A Day in June" shows D-Day as a flashback, hence the action occurs during and after June 1944. The program starred Rick Jason as platoon leader Second Lieutenant Gil Hanley and Vic Morrow as Sergeant "Chip" Saunders. Jason and Morrow would play the lead in alternating episodes in Combat!
