An anti-pattern is a solution to a class of problem which may be commonly used but is likely to be ineffective or counterproductive. The term, coined in 1995 by Andrew Koenig, was inspired by the book Design Patterns which highlights software development design patterns that its authors consider to be reliable and effective.
A paper in 1996 presented by Michael Ackroyd at the Object World West Conference described anti-patterns. It was, however, the 1998 book AntiPatterns that both popularized the idea and extended its scope beyond the field of software design to include software architecture

"Chav" (), also "charver", or "scally", or "roadman" in parts of England, is a British term, usually used in a pejorative way. The term is used to describe an anti-social lower-class youth dressed in sportswear. The term has been described as classist. Julie Burchill described the term as a form of "social racism". "Chavette" is a related term referring to female chavs, and the adjectives "chavvy", "chavvish", and "chavtastic" are used to describe things associated with chavs, such as fashion, slang, etc. In Australia, "eshay" or "adlay" has been described as a "try-hard chav".

In internet slang, rage-baiting (also ragebaiting, rage-farming, or rage-seeding) is the manipulative tactic of eliciting outrage with the goal of increasing internet traffic, online engagement, and revenue, as well as attracting new subscribers, followers, or supporters. This manipulation occurs through offensive or inflammatory headlines, memes, tropes, or comments that provoke users to respond in kind.

A hater, anti-fan, toxic fan, detractor or anti is someone who enjoys writing, discussing, or (in some cases) making derivative works about a piece of media, but solely for the purpose of railing against or parodying it. It can also be a person with hatred towards a celebrity or icon. Haters often attract other haters to create a negative community. They are at odds with the fans. Someone who opposes a ship (a romantic pairing between two characters) is called an anti-shipper.
