Basildon ( ) is a town in Essex, England. It lies east of Central London, south of Chelmsford, and west of Southend-on-Sea. It gives its name to the wider Borough of Basildon which also includes the towns of Billericay and Wickford and surrounding rural areas.

It gives its name to one of the wards of the Borough of Basildon. At the 2021 census the ward had a population of 10,401.

Nevendon is an area in the Borough of Basildon in Essex, England. It was formerly a parish and village. The village historically comprised loose-knit development along the road from St Peter's Church in the south up to the moated manor house of Nevendon Manor in the north.
