The loonie (), formally the Canadian one-dollar coin, is a gold-coloured Canadian coin introduced in 1987 to replace the Canadian one-dollar bill and the previous silver Voyageur dollar. It is produced by the Royal Canadian Mint at its facility in Winnipeg.
