Rhinophoridae

Gasterophilinae
The Gasterophilinae are a subfamily of Oestridae which includes large, parasitic flies; this group has historically been treated as a family, but all recent classifications place them firmly within the Oestridae. Many members of this subfamily spend part of their larval stages in the digestive tracts of herbivores. The best known genus is Gasterophilus, which attacks horses, deer, and similar animals. The genus Cobboldia breeds in elephants. The genus Gyrostigma breeds in rhinoceroses.
Mydaeinae
The Mydaeinae are a subfamily of true flies, belonging to the family Muscidae.
Microdontinae
The subfamily Microdontinae contains slightly more than 400 species of hoverflies (family Syrphidae) and, while diverse, these species share several characteristics by which they differ from other syrphids. The Microdontinae are myrmecophiles, meaning they live in the nests of ants. Larval Microdontinae are scavengers or predators in ant nests, and, in contrast to other syrphid larvae, have no readily apparent body segmentation. Some species also do not exhibit the typical adult flower-visiting behaviour of other hoverflies, but instead remain near their larval host colonies (some of these spe
Hypodermatinae
The Hypodermatinae are a subfamily of Oestridae. The Hypodermatinae include large parasitic flies, some of which are known as warble flies. The 9 genera in this subfamily typically spend their larval stages in the skin or soft tissues of mammals, including bovines. Such species include serious pests of livestock.
Exoristinae
Exoristinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Tachinidae. Most species are parasitoids of caterpillars. thumb|Egg of Istocheta aldrichi on [[Japanese beetle]] thumb|Mating pair of flies of the tribe Goniini
Dexiinae
Dexiinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Tachinidae.
Miltogramminae
The Miltogramminae are a subfamily of the family Sarcophagidae. They are kleptoparasites of solitary bees and solitary wasps (not eusocial species). thumb|Metopia sp.

Dacinae
The Dacinae are a subfamily of the fruit fly family Tephritidae. Its 39 genera are distributed among three tribes:
Tephritinae
The Tephritinae are a subfamily of tephritid fruit flies.
Phasiinae
thumb|Tachinid eggs on Leptoglossus occidentalis Phasiinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Tachinidae. Except for the small tribe Strongygastrini members of this subfamily attack only Heteroptera.
Steganinae
The Steganinae Hendel, 1917, is the smaller of two subfamilies in the fruit fly family Drosophilidae. The other subfamily is the Drosophilinae.
Anthracinae
Anthracinae is a subfamily of bee flies in the family Bombyliidae. There are more than 80 genera and 2,000 described species in Anthracinae. thumb|Xenox tigrinus thumb|Villa fulviana ==Genera==
Cuterebrinae
The Cuterebrinae, the robust bot flies, are a subfamily of Oestridae which includes large, parasitic flies; this group has historically been treated as a family, but all recent classifications place them firmly within the Oestridae. Both genera spend their larval stages in the skin of mammals. The genus Cuterebra, or rodent bots, attack rodents and similar animals. The other genus, Dermatobia, attacks primates, including humans.
Stratiomyinae
Stratiomyinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Stratiomyidae.
Oscinellinae
Oscinellinae is a subfamily of frit flies in the family Chloropidae. There are at least 40 genera and 180 described species in Oscinellinae.
Metopininae
The Metopininae are the largest subfamily of flies in the family Phoridae, largely due to the inclusion of the extremely species-rich genus Megaselia. Members of this subfamily are widespread and common, with species such as Megaselia scalaris being particularly ubiquitous
Hermetiinae
Hermetiinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Stratiomyidae.
Pachygastrinae
Pachygastrinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Stratiomyidae.
Oestrinae
Oestrinae is a subfamily of Oestridae which includes parasitic flies attacking a range of different hosts. There are 9 genera with 34 species in this subfamily, which typically spend their larval stage in the skin or soft tissues of mammals, including deer or sheep (such species are often considered pests). The adult flies give birth to living larva in the host's nostril.
Calliphorinae

Tabaninae
thumb|right|Hybomitra, male Tabaninae is a subfamily in the family Tabanidae commonly known as horse flies . There are more than 3000 described species in Tabaninae.
Clitellariinae
Clitellariinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Stratiomyidae.
Acrocerinae
Acrocerinae is a subfamily of small-headed flies in the family Acroceridae. Their larvae are endoparasites of araneomorph spiders, with the exception of Carvalhoa appendiculata which can develop as ectoparasitoids on their host spiders. Traditionally, the subfamily included the genera now placed in Cyrtinae and Ogcodinae, but the subfamily in this sense was found to be polyphyletic and was split up in 2019.
Myopinae
Myopinae is a subfamily of flies from the family Conopidae.
Chloropinae
Chloropinae is a subfamily of grass flies in the family Chloropidae. thumb|Grass flies, Chloropinae thumb|Grass flies, Chloropinae

Pangoniinae
Pangoniinae is a subfamily of horse-flies in the order Diptera, containing at seven tribes and over 40 genera.
Therevinae
Therevinae is a subfamily of stiletto flies in the family Therevidae. More than 20 genera and 470 described species are placed in the Therevinae. thumb|Thereva plebeja
Phytomyzinae
thumb|Mines in goldenrod leaf made by Phytomyza larvae Phytomyzinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Agromyzidae. There are at least 520 described species in Phytomyzinae.

Azeliinae is a subfamily within the Diptera family Muscidae. Some authors place members within the subfamily Muscinae.
Trypetinae
The Trypetinae are a subfamily of tephritid fruit flies.
