Capnodiales
Capnodiales is a diverse order of Dothideomycetes, initially based on the family Capnodiaceae, also known as sooty mold fungi. Sooty molds grow as epiphytes, forming masses of black cells on plant leaves and are often associated with the honeydew secreted by insects feeding on plant sap. This diverse order has been expanded by the addition of several families formerly thought unrelated and now also includes saprobes, endophytes, plant pathogens, lichens and rock-inhabiting fungi. The new additions include the genus Mycosphaerella containing the causal agents of several economically important c

Antennulariellaceae
The Antennulariellaceae are a family of fungi in the Ascomycota, class Dothideomycetes. The family was named by Nikolai Nikolaevich Woronichin in 1925 to contain the genus Antennulariella that he had described a decade earlier in 1915. Species in the family have a widespread distribution, and are found in warm temperate to tropical locations, where they grow as black sooty molds on plants.
Antennulariella
Antennulariella is a genus of fungi in the family Antennulariellaceae. First described in 1915, species in the genus form thin, crust-like films that cling directly to rock or bark surfaces and fade imperceptibly into their surroundings. The fungi are distinguished by their distinctive black reproductive structures covered in short hairs, and they appear to rely solely on spores for reproduction since no asexual structures have been observed.
Euantennariaceae
The Euantennariaceae are a family of fungi in the order Capnodiales.
Piedraiaceae
The Piedraiaceae is a monotypic family of fungi in the Ascomycota, class Dothideomycetes, within the Capnodiales order.
Metacapnodiaceae
The Metacapnodiaceae was a monotypic family of fungi in the Ascomycota, class Dothideomycetes. The family contained the single genus Metacapnodium. Wijayawardene et al. 2022 added 2 other genera to the family.
Passalora
Passalora is a genus of fungi in the family Mycosphaerellaceae. It has about 250 species.

Asperisporium
Asperisporium is a genus of ascomycete fungi whose members are plant pathogens.
Teratosphaeria
Teratosphaeria is a genus of fungi in the family Teratosphaeriaceae; according to the 2007 Outline of Ascomycota, it was placed in the Phaeosphaeriaceae, but the placement within this family was uncertain. It was confirmed in 2020, within Teratosphaeriaceae by Wijayawardene et al. 2020.

Cystocoleus
Cystocoleus is a fungal genus in the family Cystocoleaceae. The genus was established in 1849 by the British botanist G.H.K. Thwaites and is now considered to contain only one species, Cystocoleus ebeneus. These fungi form minute, sooty-brown to black patches made up of densely packed, brittle filaments that have a fluffy, felt-like appearance. They typically grow on shaded rock faces or damp bark near running water.

Piedraia is a genus of fungus within the Piedraiaceae family in the Capnodiales order.
