Hargeisa ( ; ; ) is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Somaliland, a partially recognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, still considered internationally to be part of Somalia. It is also the regional capital of the Maroodi Jeex region of Somaliland.

Berbera (; ,𐒁𐒗𐒇𐒁𐒗𐒇𐒖, ) is the capital of the Sahil region of Somaliland and is the main sea port of the country, located approximately 160 km from the national capital, Hargeisa. Berbera is a coastal city and was the former capital of the British Somaliland protectorate before Hargeisa. It also served as a major port of the Ifat, Adal and Isaaq sultanates from the 13th to 19th centuries.

Yubbe (also known as Yobe, Yube, Yubeh and Yubbe Tug) is a town in the Sanaag region in Somali. Both Puntland and Somaliland claim sovereignty over the area. In January 2023, it has been reported that Somaliland forces withdrew from the town. And according to reports in August 2025, the Puntland government has incorporated the Yube clan militia into its own forces as part of Operation Cal Madow.

Baligubadle is a town in the southern Maroodi Jeex region of Somaliland. The locality serves as the capital of the Baligubadle District, an administrative subdivision of the Maroodi Jeex region that was created in 1991 after regaining Somaliland independence, and straddles the border with the Somali Region of Ethiopia.
