Members of this genus are also known as cocktail ants because of their habit of raising their abdomens when alarmed. Most species are arboreal (tree-dwelling). These ants are also known as acrobat ants.
Cardiocondyla
thumb|Cardiocondyla pirata [[paratype]] Cardiocondyla is an Old World genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae.
Carebara
Carebara is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. It is one of the largest myrmicine genera with more than 200 species distributed worldwide in the tropics and the Afrotropical region. Many of them are very tiny cryptic soil and leaf-litter inhabitants. They nest in rotten wood to which the bark is still adherent in the Afrotropical region, or may be lestobiotic, nesting near other ant species. Some species are known to exist parasitically within termite nests. Little is known about the biology of the genus, but they are notable for the vast difference in size between queens and workers
Harpagoxenus
Harpagoxenus is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. Found in the Palaearctic and Nearctic ecozones of the world, Harpagoxenus was first established as Tomognathus by Mayr (1861) to house the species Myrmica sublaevis (now Harpagoxenus sublaevis). However, the name had already been used (homonym) for a genus of fish, and was replaced with its current name by Forel (1893).
Ancyridris
Ancyridris is a small genus of myrmicine ants, with only two described species from New Guinea.
Cataulacus
Cataulacus is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. The genus is distributed in the Paleotropical regions, mainly in the Afrotropics. Most species are found in forests, but a few are known from more open and arid habitats.
Atopomyrmex
Atopomyrmex is a small genus of arboreal ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. The genus is known from the Afrotropics, where they nest in living wood and forage in the vegetation or on the ground.
Meranoplus
Meranoplus is an Old World genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. With over 80 valid species, it is predicted that over half of the Meranoplus diversity remains undescribed, most of these from Australia.
Metapone
Metapone is an Old World genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. The genus is found in the Indo-Australian, Oriental and Malagasy regions. Most species are known only from a few specimens.
Ocymyrmex
Ocymyrmex is an African genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae, also commonly known as hotrod ants.
Vollenhovia
Vollenhovia is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae.
Melissotarsus
Melissotarsus is a rare African genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. They are known from the Afrotropics and Malagasy regions, where their nests are located in living wood, built by tunneling through the wood under the bark. They are rarely seen outside of their nests, which may contribute to their perceived rarity. However, they are considered pest insects because of damage they can cause to trees, including economically important ones such as mangos and trees in the family Burseraceae, including Aucoumea klaineana, Dacryodes buettneri, and Dacryodes edulis.
Romblonella
Romblonella is a genus of myrmicine ants.
Dacetinops
Dacetinops is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. Its seven species are known from Borneo (D. cirrosus, D. concinnus, D. solivagus and D. wilsoni), and Papua New Guinea (D. cibdelus, D. darlingtonl and D. ignotus). One species, D. cirrosus, is known also from Terengganu and Johor, West Malaysia.
Formicoxenus
Formicoxenus is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae.
Calyptomyrmex
Calyptomyrmex is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. The genus is distributed from Africa to India and east to New Caledonia. They are mainly found in the rainforest, where they forage alone or in small numbers.
Crematogastrini
Crematogastrini is a tribe of myrmicine ants with 64 genera and 8 fossil genera.
Dilobocondyla
Dilobocondyla is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. The genus is distributed in the Oriental and Australasian realms. It seems to be rare, with most species known only from single specimens.
Perissomyrmex
Perissomyrmex is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. It is known from the Neotropical and Oriental realms.
Podomyrma
Podomyrma is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. They are relatively common and found across Australia, Papua, and its surrounding islands. The genus is commonly referred to as muscleman tree ants due to their widened leg segments that look like flexing muscles. These ants are frequently found in and around trees where they live. Most spceies have multiple colours, shades of red, brown, black and orange.
Paratopula
Paratopula is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. The genus consists of arboreal species known from the Oriental and Indo-Australian regions. Little is known about their biology.
Dacatria templaris
Dacatria is a genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. It contains the single species Dacatria templaris, first described from South Korea. The genus is known only from South Korea, Vietnam and China.
Peronomyrmex
Peronomyrmex is a rare genus of ants in the subfamily Myrmicinae. Its three species are known from the east coast of Australia. With only five specimens in total, collected from four localities, Peronomyrmex is one of the world's most rare ant genera.

Liomyrmex
Liomyrmex is a monotypic genus of ant in the subfamily Myrmicinae; the only species is Liomyrmex gestroi. This genus is known to inhabit Southeast Asia (including Papua New Guinea), South Asia, and parts of Southern China. Individuals in this genus are blind and are known to live among termites in their chambers, but it is relatively unknown as to the purpose of such a relationship.
