Cunoniaceae is a family of 27 genera and about 335 species of woody plants in the order Oxalidales, mostly found in the tropical and wet temperate regions of the Southern Hemisphere. The greatest diversity of genera are in Australia and Tasmania (15 genera), New Guinea (9 genera), and New Caledonia (7 genera). The family is also present in Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Malesia, the islands of the South Pacific, Madagascar and surrounding islands. Davidsonia is a genus containing three rainforest tree species native to Australia, commonly known as the Davidson plum or '''Davidson's plum'. The fruits superficially resemble the European plum, but are not closely related. All species have an edible sour fruit with burgundy-coloured flesh and are highly regarded as gourmet bushfood. The genus Davidsonia'' is named after John Ewen Davidson who claimed the land from which the tree was first botanically described.

Caldcluvia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Cunoniaceae. The only species in the genus is Caldcluvia paniculata, known as tiaca, an evergreen tree native to Chile. It is found from Ñuble to Aisén (36 to 45°S). Most species that were previously placed in the genus are now placed in Ackama, Opocunonia and Spiraeopsis.

Opocunonia is a monotypic genus of trees in the family Cunoniaceae. Its only species is Opocunonia nymanii, synonym Caldcluvia nymanii. It is native to New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago.
