Cyprichromini

Cyprichromis is a genus of cichlids with five species. They are also known as the herring cichlids or sardine cichlids, since they form large schools in the open water of Lake Tanganyika. Of the known species, only C. microlepidotus has been recorded outside Lake Tanganyika (in eastern Tanzania).

Paracyprichromis is a small genus of cichlids endemic to Lake Tanganyika in east Africa.

Cyprichromini is a tribe of African cichlids, containing seven species in two genera: Cyprichromis and Paracyprichromis. Most of the species are endemic to Lake Tanganyika; only C. microlepidotus has also been seen in eastern Tanzania.
