Badumna
Badumna is a genus of intertidal spiders that was first described by Tamerlan Thorell in 1890. They are harmless spiders that can be found around human structures and buildings. The most well-known species is B. insignis, also known as the "black house spider" or "black window spider".
Desis
genus of arachnids
Cedicus
Cedicus is a genus of araneomorph spiders in the family Desidae, and was first described by Eugène Simon in 1875.
Austmusia
Austmusia is a genus of Australian intertidal spiders first described by Michael R. Gray in 1983. it contains only three species.
Cedicoides
Cedicoides is a genus of spiders in the family Desidae made up of four species. It is characterized by well developed tegulum on the bulb of the male pedipalp. When it was published by Charitonov in 1946, it acted as a subgenus to Cedicus. Later, it was argued that the differences between spiders of Cedicoides and those of other subgenera - notably the presence of a terminal apophysis and the shape of the male pedipalp - were great enough to warrant a new genus. In 2003, it was upgraded from subgenus to genus status by Marusik & Guseinov. Spiders of this genus are rare, and are often missing f
Calacadia
Calacadia is a genus of South American intertidal spiders first described by H. Exline in 1960.
Amphinecta
Amphinecta is a genus of South Pacific intertidal spiders first described by Eugène Simon in 1898.
Buyina
Buyina is a genus of Australian intertidal spiders first described by V. T. Davies in 1998. it contains only two species.
Cunnawarra
Cunnawarra is a genus of Australian intertidal spiders first described by V. T. Davies in 1998. it contains only two species.
Cambridgea
Cambridgea (common name New Zealand sheetweb spider, bush spider) is a spider genus in the family Desidae and some of the first endemic spiders described from New Zealand. They are known for constructing large horizontal sheet webs measuring up to a square metre in larger species. Cambridgea were originally assigned to the Agelenidae by Dalmas in 1917 but were reassigned to the Stiphidiidae in 1973. Most recently, both Cambridgea and sister genus Nanocambridgea were reassigned to the Desidae, subfamily Porteriinae on the basis of molecular evidence.
Panoa
Panoa is a genus of intertidal spiders. It was first described by Raymond Robert Forster in 1970, and it has only been found in New Zealand.
Akatorea
Akatorea is a genus of intertidal spiders first described by Raymond Robert Forster & C. L. Wilton in 1973. it contains only two species, both found in New Zealand.
Dunstanoides
Dunstanoides is a genus of South Pacific intertidal spiders first described by Norman I. Platnick in 1989.
Baiami
Baiami is a genus of Australian intertidal spiders that was first described by Pekka T. Lehtinen in 1967. Originally placed with the Stiphidiidae, it was transferred to the Desidae after the results of a 2019 genetic analysis.
Colcarteria
Colcarteria is a genus of Australian intertidal spiders that was first described by Michael R. Gray in 1992. it contains only three species: C. carrai, C. kempseyi, and C. yessabah.
Canala
genus of arachnids
Barahna
Barahna is a genus of Australian spiders in the family Desidae (intertidal spiders) that was first described by V. T. Davies in 2003. The name is derived from baran-barahn, the Bundjalung word for "spider". Originally placed with the Stiphidiidae, it was moved to the Desidae after the results of a 2017 genetic study.
Helsonia
Helsonia is a monotypic genus of South Pacific intertidal spiders containing the single species, Helsonia plata. It was first described by Raymond Robert Forster in 1970, and has only been found in New Zealand.
Corasoides
Corasoides is a genus of South Pacific intertidal spiders that was first described by Arthur Gardiner Butler in 1929. Originally placed with the Agelenidae, it was moved to the Stiphidiidae in 1973, and to the Desidae after a 2017 genetic study.
Cicirra
Cicirra is a monotypic genus of Australian intertidal spiders containing the single species, Cicirra decemmaculata. It was first described by Eugène Simon in 1886, and has only been found in Australia. Originally placed with the funnel-weavers, it was moved to the Matachiinae (subfamily of the Amaurobiidae) in 1967. They are closely related to Forsterina.
