Ilulissat
Ilulissat, also known as Jakobshavn or Jacobshavn, is the municipal seat and largest town of the Avannaata municipality in western Greenland, located approximately north of the Arctic Circle. With a population of 5,149 as of 2025, it is the third-largest city in Greenland, after Nuuk and Sisimiut. The city is home to almost as many sled-dogs as people.

Aasiaat (), also known as Egedesminde, is a town in the Qeqertalik municipality in western Greenland, located on its namesake island in the heart of Aasiaat Archipelago at the southern end of Disko Bay. Avannaata (, ) is a municipality of Greenland created on 1 January 2018 from the bulk of the former Qaasuitsup municipality. It encompasses an area of 522,700 km2 and has 10,989 inhabitants.

Qeqertalik
Qeqertalik (, ) is a municipality of Greenland created in 2018 from four southern regions of the former Qaasuitsup Municipality. It is the least populated municipality at a population of 5,969, despite this it is the 2nd most densely populated municipality with 0.09 people per square kilometer.

Qasigiannguit (), also known as Christianshåb, is a town located in western Greenland on the southeastern shore of Disko Bay in the Qeqertalik municipality. With 1,081 inhabitants in 2020, it is the thirteenth-largest town in Greenland. The main industry is shrimp and halibut fishing.
Kangaatsiaq
Kangaatsiaq (, old spelling: Kangâtsiaq) is a town located in the Qeqertalik municipality in western Greenland. The town received town status as recently as 1986, though as a settlement it has existed much longer. It has 507 inhabitants as of 2023. Nearby settlements are Attu, Niaqornaarsuk, Ikerasaarsuk and Iginniarfik.
Akunnaaq
Akunnaaq (old spelling: Akúnâk) is a settlement in the Qeqertalik municipality in western Greenland. Its population was 55 in 2025. Akunnaaq is located east of Aasiaat on the Akunnaap Nunnaa island. The settlement was founded in 1850.
Oqaatsut
Oqaatsut (Danish: Hollandshuk or Rødebugt; Dutch: Roobay) is a settlement in Avannaata municipality, in western Greenland. It had 29 inhabitants in 2020. The modern name of the settlement is Kalaallisut for "Cormorants". The village is served by the communal all-purpose Pilersuisoq store.
Saqqaq
Saqqaq (old spelling: Sarqaq) is a settlement in the Avannaata municipality in western Greenland. Founded in 1755 as Solsiden, Saqqaq had 132 inhabitants in 2020. The village's Kalaallisut name is a translation of the Danish meaning "Sunny Side", in reference to its position relative to Livets Top.

Kitsissuarsuit
Kitsissuarsuit (old spelling: Kitsigsuarssuit) is a settlement in Qeqertalik municipality in western Greenland. The settlement was formerly founded in 1830 as Hunde Ejlande or '''Dog's Island''', although it had already been used as a whaling station since 1817. Its population was 50 in 2020.

Qeqertaq (pronounced: (according to the old spelling ''K'eĸertaĸ'')) is a settlement in the Avannaata municipality in western Greenland, located on an island off the southern shore of the Nuussuaq Peninsula in an inlet of Sullorsuaq Strait. Founded in 1830 as Øen, the settlement had 117 inhabitants in 2024.

Ilimanaq (), also known in Danish as Claushavn, is a settlement in Avannaata municipality in western Greenland. It had 55 inhabitants in 2025. The modern name of the village is Kalaallisut for "Place of Expectations".
