Nikiszowiec is a well-known neighbourhood and settlement which is part of the Janów-Nikiszowiec administrative district of the city of Katowice.

Giszowiec (German: Gieschewald) is an eastern district of the city of Katowice (Silesian Voivodeship, Poland), created as a coal miners' settlement in 1907. Initially consisting of about 3,300 miners and their families, the district's population have grown over the years to over 18,000. Although Giszowiec's architectural originality suffered major damages in the 1970s and 1980s due to large scale urbanization, its early unique character can be still felt in the surviving miners' housings, the marketplace, numerous individual buildings and structures, as well as the relatively well preserved ge

Bogucice () is a part and district of Katowice, Poland, located in the northern part of the city in the Chorzów Hills area, bordering Dąbrówka Mała, Szopienice-Burowiec, Zawodzie, Śródmieście, Koszutka, Wełnowiec-Józefowiec, and the city of Siemianowice Śląskie. It is one of the smallest districts of Katowice and serves mainly residential and cultural functions. Koszutka () is a part and a district of Katowice, located in the northern part of the city, in the Chorzów Hills, bordering Wełnowiec-Józefowiec, Bogucice, Śródmieście, and Dąb. It is the smallest in terms of area and one of the most densely populated districts of the city, with a large proportion of elderly residents. It is mainly residential, with a well-developed service sector, and is also the seat of several public administration institutions.

Załęże (German: Zalenze) is a part and a district of Katowice, located in the north-western part of the city, in the central part of the Upper Silesian conurbation, on the Rawa river. It runs along in a characteristic, winding course from the city center to the border of Chorzów. It also borders Osiedle Tysiąclecia, Dąb, Śródmieście, Załęska Hałda-Brynów, and Osiedle Witosa.

Brynów is a district in Katowice, Poland. It is located in the central part of Katowice, south-west of the immediate center, and is divided into two subdistricts: Brynów - Osiedle Zgrzebnioka is the eastern subdistrict with 7,200 inhabitants (in 2002) Brynów - Załęska Hałda is the western subdistrict with 16,800 inhabitants (in 2002)
