Dolichopodidae

Dolichopodidae, the long-legged flies, are a large, cosmopolitan family of true flies with more than 8,000 described species in about 250 genera. The genus Dolichopus is the most speciose, with some 600 species.

Nematoproctus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It has an uncertain position in the family; different authors have included the genus in the subfamily Diaphorinae or the subfamily Rhaphiinae.

Elmoia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera. The genus is named in honor of D. Elmo Hardy.
