Dolichopus
Dolichopus is a large cosmopolitan genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. Adults are small flies, typically less than 8 mm in length. Nearly all species are metallic greenish-blue to greenish-bronze. It is the largest genus of Dolichopodidae with more than 600 species worldwide.

species of fly
Hercostomus nigripennis
species of fly
Gymnopternus
Gymnopternus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It was formerly placed as a subgenus of Hercostomus, but is now accepted as a separate genus.

Pelastoneurus vagans

Hercostomus
Hercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is a large genus, containing more than 483 species worldwide. Multiple studies have shown that Hercostomus is a polyphyletic assemblage of species.

Allohercostomus
Allohercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes three species from China and Nepal. Members of the genus are metallic green in color and are small in size, with a body length of 2.5–3.2 mm and a wing length of 2.8–3.4 mm. The generic name is a combination of the prefix allo- (from the Ancient Greek , , meaning "other") with the generic name Hercostomus. In Brooks (2005)'s phylogenetic analysis of the subfamily Dolichopodinae, Allohercostomus was hypothesized to be the most basal member of the subfamily based on a triangular depression present on the scut
Pelastoneurus
Pelastoneurus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Tachytrechus vorax
species of insect
Sybistroma
Sybistroma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes over 50 species, described mainly from the Palaearctic and Oriental realms. A single species is known from the Afrotropical realm. Until 2005, the genus was thought to be restricted to the Mediterranean in distribution, with five known species. It was recently expanded to include the former genera Hypophyllus, Ludovicius and Nodicornis, as well as some species of Hercostomus.
Tachytrechus auratus
species of insect
Ortochile
Ortochile is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Western Palaearctic realm, including Europe, Turkey, Israel and North Africa. Adults of Ortochile have greatly elongated mouthparts, longer than the height of the head. They are associated with flowers, and have been reported to feed on nectar and pollen. Flower-feeding is also known in some species of Hercostomus.
Aphalacrosoma
Aphalacrosoma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, known from China and Taiwan.

Paraclius
Paraclius is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is currently considered a polyphyletic assemblage of species.
Pelastoneurus lugubris

Pelastoneurus longicauda

Tachytrechus
Tachytrechus is a genus of long-legged flies in the family Dolichopodidae.
Argyrochlamys
Argyrochlamys is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is known from the Afrotropics, the Oriental realm, and the southernmost part of the Palearctic realm. The genus is closely related to the genera Pseudargyrochlamys and Phoomyia. Species of Argyrochlamys are restricted to ocean beaches, and are usually collected in the burrows of ghost crabs. Their ecological role within these burrows is currently unknown. Adults of Argyrochlamys have a non-metallic dull body color, ranging from pale yellowish brown to dark grey.
Gymnopternus flavus
species of insect
Sybistroma obscurellum
species of fly
Parahercostomus
Parahercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes four species known only from China. Members of the genus are metallic green in color and large in size, with a body length of 4.5–5.3 mm and a wing length of 5.2–7.0 mm. The generic name is a combination of the prefix para- (from the Ancient Greek , , meaning "near" or "beside") with the generic name Hercostomus. According to Brooks (2005)'s phylogenetic analysis of the subfamily Dolichopodinae, Parahercostomus appears to be closely related to Grichanov (1999)'s Afrotropical species group 1 in the genus Her
Setihercostomus
Setihercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, known from China, Taiwan, Russia and Tanzania.
Gymnopternus vockerothi

Cheiromyia
Cheiromyia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is found in the Neotropical realm. It was originally named Cheirocerus by Octave Parent in 1930, but was renamed to Cheiromyia by Peter Dyte in 1980 after it was found to be preoccupied by the catfish genus Cheirocerus (Eigenmann, 1917). The antennae of the males bear one or more elongate projections on an enlarged postpedicel, resembling antlers. Cheiromyia is closely related to some species of Paraclius.
