Thembisa, formerly Tembisa, is a large township situated to the north of Kempton Park on the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1957 when black people were resettled from Alexandra and other areas in Edenvale, Kempton Park, Midrand and Germiston.

Vosloorus
Vosloorus is a large township situated south of Boksburg and just east of Katlehong in Ekurhuleni, just 30 kilometres south-east of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1963 when Black Africans were removed from Stirtonville because it was considered by the government too close to a white town. Stirtonville, renamed Reiger Park, has since become home to Boksburg's coloured community. A local authority was established in 1983 when Vosloorus was given full municipal status.
Daveyton
Daveyton is a township in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality of Gauteng in South Africa. It borders Etwatwa to the north-east, Springs to the south and Benoni to the south-west. It is approximately 18 kilometres north-east of Benoni and 45 kilometers east of Johannesburg.
Thokoza
Thokoza, alternatively rendered Tokoza, is a township in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. Thokoza is at the location of the now-defunct Palmietfontein Airport. It is situated south east of Alberton, adjacent to Katlehong. Thokoza was the first black township which was established in the South. During the early 1990s Thokoza was the middle of unrest between the supporters of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and the African National Congress (ANC).

Bapsfontein
Bapsfontein is a farming town in Ekurhuleni, South Africa, and falls into the Elandsvlei Conservancy area. It is situated at the intersection of the R25 and R50 roads. The area is known for its variety of birds as it is directly on the International Bird Route. The surrounding areas are made up of pristine grasslands and many pans are found in the area. Wetlands are protected in this area. Bapsfontein forms part of the catchment area for many essential rivers and dams.

Etwatwa
Etwatwa, also known as Holfontein, is a township that 20 km away from Benoni, 24 kilometres away from springs in Ekurhuleni in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It is made up of the following sections: Etwatwa West, Quantum, Barcelona, Mkgoba, Bester Homes, Etwatwa Ext 7, Citicon, Etwatwa East, Etwatwa Ext 9, Etwatwa Ext 10, (these both known as Emaphupheni, which means land of dreams in Nguni) and Mandela. Etwatwa is also known as the last town, as it is not far from the Gauteng-Mpumalanga border to the east towards Delmas.
