Aydın ( ; ; formerly named Güzelhisar) is a city in and the seat of Aydın Province in Turkey's Aegean Region. The city is located at the heart of the lower valley of Büyük Menderes River (ancient Meander River) at a commanding position for the region extending from the uplands of the valley down to the seacoast. Efeler district
Efeler is a municipality and district of Aydın Province, Turkey. Its area is 124 km2, and its population is 303,772 (2022). The district was established as a part of the 2013 local government reorganisation from the former central district of Aydın. The name Aydın was reserved for the metropolitan municipality.
