Iten
Iten{/itɛn/} is a small town in Elgeyo-Marakwet County in the Republic of Kenya. It is one of the largest urban centers.
The town is located along the road between Eldoret and Kabarnet at the junction of the road heading to Kapsowar town at the western escarpment of the Gregory Rift at an altitude of 2400m. Elgeyo escarpment and Kerio River are located east of Iten. The slow growing town had a population of 42,312 at the 2019 consensus.

Kapsowar is a town in Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya. Prior to March 2013, it was located in the former Rift Valley Province. In 1994, Kapsowar became the headquarters of the former Marakwet district.it also hosts the only girls national school in the county.Furthermore, Kapsowar is the proposed headquarters for the Elgeyo Marakwet County. Prior to this, the Marakwet and Keiyo people were collectively grouped into the Elgeiyo-Marakwet District. In 2010, the two districts were again merged into Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
