Ethnic groups in Uruguay

The Gaels are a group of Insular Celtic ethnic groups native to Ireland, parts of Scotland, and the Isle of Man, and historically, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. They are associated with the Gaelic languages: a branch of the Celtic languages comprising Irish, Manx, and Scottish Gaelic.

Uruguayans () are people identified with the country of Uruguay, through citizenship or descent. Uruguay is home to people of different ethnic origins. As a result, many Uruguayans do not equate their nationality with ethnicity, but with citizenship and their allegiance to Uruguay. Colloquially, primarily among other Spanish-speaking Latin American nations, Uruguayans are also referred to as "orientals [as in Easterners]" ().

Afro-Uruguayans (), also known as Black Uruguayans (), are Uruguayans with partial or total ancestry from any of the Black racial groups of Africa. Afro-Uruguayans are generally considered the second-largest ethnic group in the country, although in much smaller numbers compared to the majority European-descended population, as they make up less than 11% of Uruguay's population.
