Gawilghur Fort
Gawilghur (also, Gawilgarh or Gawilgad, Pronunciation: [ɡaːʋilɡəɖ]) was a well-fortified mountain stronghold of the Maratha Empire north of the Deccan Plateau, in the vicinity of Satpura Ranges, Amravati District, Maharashtra. It was successfully assaulted by a force commanded by Arthur Wellesley on 15 December 1803 during the Second Anglo-Maratha War.

Salher is a place located near Salher Village in Satana tehsil in Nashik district of Maharashtra, India. The old name of Salher was Gavalgarh. It is the site of the highest fort in the Sahyadri mountains and the second highest peak at after Kalsubai in Maharashtra and 32nd highest peak in Western Ghats. This was a fort of the Maratha Empire. The money acquired after raiding Surat was brought to this fort first on its way to the Maratha capital forts.

Thalner is an Shirpur Tahsil's Village, the first capital of the Faruqi kings, stands on the banks of the Tapi river, in Shirpur tehsil about 46.67 km. (28 miles) north-east of Dhule in Maharashtra state, India. It was fortified and played a significant role in the history of Khandesh. At the foot of the fort is an old stone temple dedicated to Thaleshwar. The name Thalner probably derived from this temple. The capital was once a significant commercial centre.

It is the site of the second-highest fort in the Sahyadri mountains after Salher. Dhodap hill is the third-highest peak in Maharashtra after Kalsubai and Salher and the 29th highest peak in Western Ghats.

An easy climb of 20 mins takes to the top of the fort. Songir has 3 to 4 small adjacent forts. There is a deep water well on the fort. Only the door frame of the entrance of the fort is remaining rest all structures are in ruined state.
