FileZilla is a free and open-source, cross-platform FTP application, consisting of FileZilla Client and FileZilla Server. Clients are available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Both server and client support FTP and FTPS (FTP over SSL/TLS), while the client can in addition connect to SFTP servers. FileZilla's source code is hosted on SourceForge.

cURL (pronounced like "curl", ) is a free and open source CLI app for uploading and downloading individual files. It can download a URL from a web server over HTTP, and supports a variety of other network protocols, URI schemes, multiple versions of HTTP, and proxying. The project consists of a library (libcurl) and command-line tool (curl), which have been widely ported to different computing platforms. It was created by Daniel Stenberg, who is still the lead developer of the project.

Cyberduck is an open-source client for FTP and SFTP, WebDAV, and cloud storage (OpenStack Swift, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2 and Microsoft Azure), available for macOS and Windows (as of version 4.0) licensed under the GPL. Cyberduck is written in Java and C# using the Cocoa user interface framework on macOS and Windows Forms on Windows. FireFTP
FireFTP is a discontinued free, open-source, cross-platform FTP client for Mozilla Firefox in the form of an add-on. It supports FTP, FTPS, and SFTP. FireFTP was developed by Mime Čuvalo, a Croatian web developer who released it as charityware. It runs on any of the platforms that Firefox supports. FireFTP's layout is similar to that of WS FTP. It is no longer compatible with Firefox 57 (Quantum) and later, and the authors recommend using Waterfox instead of Firefox.

It includes both a graphical user interface (GUI), which utilizes the GTK+ graphical toolkit, and a command-line interface. gFTP is released under the terms of the GPL and has been translated into 45 languages.

tnftp (formerly lukemftp) is an enhanced FTP client for Unix-like operating systems. It is based on the original BSD FTP client, and is the default FTP client included with NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, DragonFly BSD, Darwin, and MidnightBSD. It is maintained by Luke Mewburn.
muCommander
muCommander is an open-source, cross-platform file manager that runs on operating systems supporting Java 11 or later. It has a Norton Commander style, and a dual-pane interface to allow manipulation of files via keyboard shortcuts. Pre-compiled builds are available for macOS, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, and OpenVMS. It is based on GNU Midnight Commander, but has a GUI compared to Midnight Commander.
