Laponia, or the Laponian Area, is a large mountainous wildlife area in the Lapland province in northern Sweden, more precisely in Gällivare Municipality, Arjeplog Municipality and Jokkmokk Municipality. The name comes from the Latin name for Lapland.

Dundret
Dundret (; ) is a fell (823m above sea level), located just outside the town Gällivare in Sweden. Standing east of the main chain of the Scandinavian Mountains Dundret is an inselberg.

or or is a lake on the border between Norway and Sweden. The lake covers an area of , with of the lake in Norway (Narvik Municipality in Nordland county) and in Sweden (Gällivare Municipality in Norrbotten County). The name of the lake comes from the Sami languages, with the ending -jávri or -jávrre being the word for "lake".

The Aitik copper mine is owned by Boliden AB and situated outside the town of Gällivare in northern Sweden. It is one of Europe's largest open pit copper mines. Alongside copper, some quantities of gold and silver are produced alongside the main production.

Gautelisvatnet
or is a lake that is located on the border of Norway and Sweden, about southeast of the town of Narvik. The Norwegian side lies in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county and the Swedish side lies in Gällivare Municipality in Norrbotten County. The lake has a dam on the northern end and the water is used for hydropower. After the dam was built, the lake grew and merged with the lake Vannaksvatnet to the south. The lake Unna Guovdelisjávri lies just to the east of this lake.

Vettasjärvi
Vettasjärvi is a lake in the municipality of Gällivare in Lapland and is part of the main catchment area of the Kalix River. The lake has an area of 8.99 square kilometres and is 349 metres above sea level. The lake is drained by the river Ängesån. The village of Vettasjärvi is located by the lake.
