Wareru (, , ; also known as Wagaru; 20 March 1253 – ), personal name Magadu (Mon: သၟိၚ်မဂဒူ ), was the founder of the Martaban Kingdom, located in present-day Myanmar (Burma). By using both diplomatic and military skills, he successfully carved out a Mon-speaking polity in Lower Burma, during the collapse of the Pagan Empire (Bagan Empire) in the 1280s. Wareru was assassinated in 1307 but his line ruled the kingdom until its fall in the mid-16th century.
Dhammazedi
Dhammazedi (, , Pali: Dhammacetiya; c. 1409–1492, reigned 1471 to 1492), also called Dhammaceti the Wise, was the 16th king of the Hanthawaddy Kingdom in Burma. Takayutpi
Thushin Takayutpi (, , or Taka Yut Pi or Taka Rat Pi; 1511–1539), also called Patira Rāja (ပတိရရာဇာ) was king of Hanthawaddy Pegu from 1526 to 1539. At his accession, the 15-year-old inherited the most prosperous and powerful kingdom of all post-Pagan kingdoms. But he never had control of his vassals who scarcely acknowledged him. A dozen years later, due to the young king's inexperience and mismanagement, the Mon-speaking kingdom founded in 1287 fell to a smaller Toungoo.
