Prymnesium
Prymnesium is a genus of haptophytes, including the species Prymnesium parvum.
The genus is a unicellular motile alga. It is ellipsoidal in shape one flagellum is straight and there are two longer ones which enable movement.
Discoaster
Discoaster is a genus of extinct star-shaped marine algae, with calcareous exoskeletons of between 5-40 μm across that are abundant as nanofossils in tropical deep-ocean deposits of Neogene age. Discoaster belongs to the haptophytes. About 100 species can be recognized.

Phaeocystis
Phaeocystis is a genus of algae belonging to the Prymnesiophyte class and to the larger division of Haptophyta. It is a widespread marine phytoplankton and can function at a wide range of temperatures (eurythermal) and salinities (euryhaline). Members of this genus live in the open ocean, as well as in sea ice. It has a polymorphic life cycle, ranging from free-living cells to large colonies.
Isochrysis
Isochrysis is a genus of haptophytes. Until recently this genus was also thought to contain the 'T-iso' algae frequently used in aquaculture; that species has been reclassified as Tisochrysis lutea.
Coccolithus
Coccolithus is a genus of unicellular haptophytes in the family Coccolithaceae.
Gephyrocapsa
Gephyrocapsa is a genus of haptophytes.
