Karmsundet
Karmsundet is a strait located in Rogaland county, Norway. The long strait separates the island of Karmøy on the west and the mainland of Norway and island of Vestre Bokn in the east. The strait runs through Haugesund Municipality, Karmøy Municipality, and Bokn Municipality. The town of Haugesund lies at the northern end of the strait and the town of Kopervik lies in the central part of the strait, and the town of Skudeneshavn lies near the southern end where the strait flows into the Boknafjorden. Røvær is an island group in Haugesund Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The islands lie off the mainland shore about northwest of the town of Haugesund. In 2022, there were about 77 residents living on the islands, with most living on the eastern shore of the main island of Røvær and the small island of Urd.

Vigdarvatnet
Vigdarvatnet is a lake in Sveio Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. A small arm off the main lake juts to the south and runs along the municipal-county border between Sveio Municipality in Vestland county and Haugesund Municipality in Rogaland county. The long lake forms a U-shape. It is fed by the nearby lake Stakkastadvatnet to the south, and it empties into the Ålfjorden, a small fjord arm off the main Hardangerfjorden. The village of Sveio lies on the northwestern shore of the lake.

Haugesund () is a town in Haugesund Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The town is located along the Karmsundet strait on the southwest coast of Norway. The town lies about north of the city of Stavanger and about south of the city of Bergen.

Sildajazz is a jazz festival, which is held annually on the second weekend of August, in Haugesund, Norway. The inaugural festival was in 1987 with four bands, and has since grown to involve around 70 bands and close to 400 Norwegian and foreign musicians spread over more than 200 events.

Stakkastadvatnet
Stakkastadvatnet is a lake on the border of Rogaland and Vestland counties in Norway. The lake mostly lies in Rogaland along the borders of Haugesund Municipality and Tysvær Municipality. A very small portion of the northern part of the lake crosses over into Sveio Municipality in Vestland county. The lake lies about northeast of the town of Haugesund. The lake has a small dam on the northwestern edge of the lake. The natural outlet of the lake flows through the dam and into the nearby lake Vigdarvatnet, located to the north.
