Akbarnama
The Akbarnama () is the official chronicle of the reign of Akbar, the third Mughal Emperor (), commissioned by Akbar himself and written by his court historian and biographer, Abul Fazl. It was written in Persian, which was the literary language of the Mughals, and includes vivid and detailed descriptions of his life and times. It followed the Baburnama, the more personal memoir by his grandfather, Babur, founder of the dynasty. It was produced in the form of lavishly illustrated manuscripts.
Aśokāvadāna
The Ashokavadana (; ; ) is an Indian Sanskrit-language text that describes the birth and reign of the third Mauryan Emperor Ashoka. It glorifies Ashoka as a Buddhist emperor whose only ambition was to spread Buddhism far and wide.

Harshacharita
The Harshacharita (, ; English: The deeds of Harsha) is the biography of Indian emperor Harsha by Banabhatta, also known as Bana, who was a Sanskrit writer of seventh-century CE India. He was the court poet of Harsha. The Harshacharita was the first composition of Bana and is considered to be the beginning of writing of historical poetic works in the Sanskrit language.

Sirat-un-Nabi
Sirat-un-Nabi () is a seven-volume Urdu biography of the Prophet Muhammad written by Shibli Nomani and completed by his student Sulaiman Nadvi. Considered Nomani's final and most important work, it presents the Prophet's life from a philosophical and analytical perspective, which led to some criticism from traditional scholars. Nomani began the project in 1903 and formally established an office in Lucknow in 1912 to complete it, with Nadvi assisting by collecting material from Arabic sources. Khutbat-e-Madras () is a collection of eight sermons on the life of the Islamic prophet Muhammad by Syed Suleiman Nadvi, first published in 1936. Nadvi prepared the material for a non-Arab, non-Muslim audience. Syed gave these sermons in October and November 1925 at the request of Islami Taleemi Anjuman at Madras University.
