Inspired by Stanley Kramer's ''It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), it is the first installment of the Dhamaal film series''.

Judwaa () is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film, directed by David Dhawan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha with Kader Khan, Dalip Tahil, Shakti Kapoor, Deepak Shirke, Anupam Kher, Satish Shah and Mukesh Rishi in supporting roles. It is a remake of the Telugu film Hello Brother (1994), which in turn is inspired from the Hong Kong action comedy film Twin Dragons (1992) starring Jackie Chan, which itself is a remake of Ranjit Mallick's Bengali film Shathe Shathyang (1982).

In the film, Sachin Santhosh, a graduate from Kerala, plans to move to UK but instead goes to Hyderabad to take a GATE course, where he meets and falls in love with Reenu Roy, an IT company employee.

Despite a poor opening, the film went on to become a sleeper hit.

Aayushkalam () is a 1992 Indian Malayalam-language supernatural horror drama film directed by Kamal and written by Vinu Kiriyath and Rajan Kiriyath. It stars Mukesh and Jayaram in the lead roles and Sreenivasan in supporting role. The film was a commercial success at the box office. Aayushkalam is based on the Hollywood films Ghost and Heart Condition and was in turn remade in Hindi as Hello Brother.
