Nagmati was, according to legend, the first wife and chief queen of King Ratan Sen (identified with Ratnasimha), the Rajput ruler of Medapata (present-day Mewar). Nagmati plays an important role in Malik Muhammad Jayasi's epic poem Padmavat.

Sakvarbai Bhosale (née Gaikwad) was the fourth wife of Shivaji I, the founder of the Maratha Kingdom. She was a daughter of a Maratha aristocrat, Nandaji Rao Gaikwad.

Putalabai Bhosale (née Palkar) was the third wife of the Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji. She was from Palkar Family and married Shivaji in 1653. Putalabai had no children. She committed Sati after the death of Shivaji.
